Why certifications matter for your roof
When you hire a roofer, you’re betting that they’ll do the work right and stand behind it for years. Certifications are how the industry vets that. Roofing manufacturers like GAF and CertainTeed don’t hand out elite status — contractors have to earn it through training, project history, customer feedback, and proof of insurance and licensing. Below is what we hold, what each one requires, and what it means for your project.
GAF Master Elite
GAF is the largest roofing manufacturer in North America. Their Master Elite status is reserved for the top 2 percent of contractors in the country. To earn it, a contractor has to be licensed, fully insured, factory-trained, and have a track record of quality work. Master Elite contractors can offer GAF’s strongest warranties — including options that cover both materials and workmanship for the full life of the roof. If you want a GAF roof installed by someone GAF actually trusts to install it, that’s what Master Elite means.
CertainTeed ShingleMaster
CertainTeed is the other major U.S. shingle manufacturer. ShingleMaster status requires that crews complete CertainTeed’s full curriculum on shingle installation, ventilation, and roofing system design. It also requires that the company carry the licensing and insurance CertainTeed expects of a contractor representing its brand. Our ShingleMaster credential means we can install the full CertainTeed product line and back it with CertainTeed’s extended warranty options.
A+ BBB Accredited
We’ve been BBB Accredited with an A+ rating since 2024. BBB accreditation is reviewed annually and is based on complaint history, transparency, and how the business handles disputes. The A+ rating is the highest BBB awards.
