Things To Do in Anahuac TX

Anahuac is a city on the coast of Trinity Bay in the great state of Texas. It is in Southeast Texas and the seat of Chambers County. It is known as the “Alligator Capital of Texas” by the Texas Legislature.

The name of the town originally comes from Nahuatl, meaning “place beside the waters.” The first colonists to arrive to the area came in 1715, the Burkhalter and morehead families. In the 19th century, the area became known as “Perry’s Point” after Colonel Harry Perry, who built a military post here in 1816.

Locally, the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge is one of the largest in all of Texas. It is around High Island, Texas and is over 30,000 acres of natural beauty to see. Frascone Winery & Vineyard is in the area as well, featuring alligator egg rolls and a number of other local dishes and specialties. Lagow Ranch has a great history as one of the shining jewels of the area, full of beautiful birds and other lovely wildlife.

I Called STX Roofing for a proposal to replace my roof (after doing a massive amount of review reading on roofing contractors). Josh showed at the time I was told and surveyed my roof situation. He worked up a proposal AND incorporated all of the items on my want list with no problems.

The roofing crew showed up on the scheduled day and started removing the old roofing and installing the new roofing material. All of the roofing crew were extremely proficient and did an excellent roofing job. All of my outside appliances and slate patio were covered to prevent collateral damage. They cleaned the site during the installation process and then again at the end of the roofing job – all trash and nails removed. This roofing project was completed in approximately 9 hours (59 squares).

During this roofing process Josh, Russell and Weston were also on site to oversee this job. I would recommend STX roofing for any of your roofing needs and I would use them again if needed.
